Scalpers started out in a small workshop created by a group of friends to market exclusive ties made using the best materials. The business grew, and remaining true to our origins, we expanded the range of services offered by developing a tailor and made-to-measure shirt service always using fabrics from the most prestigious firms in the world. Thanks to the success obtained with our small workshop and the exclusive ties, we decided to expand, opening our store one year later and presenting, as a result, the first PRÊT À PORTER collection. One of the emblems of the firm Scalpers are its well-known and prestigious slippers. They now form part of the Black Label group of products sold by Scalpers in its stores in Madrid, Seville and Bilbao.
The type of footwear known as slippers originated in the 19th century, when the English aristocracy opted for a comfortable type of footwear when they came home. They exchanged their Oxfords for an exquisite leather-soled velvet - more comfortable - shoe, which they adorned with their initials, emblems and coats of arms embroidered on the upper. Prince Albert, consort to Queen Victoria, made them popular and led to them being given the name Albert Slippers.
